Quite a few  of our children entered the BBC 2 '500 words' competition this year.  The challenge is to write a short story in only 500 words.  That is quite a difficult task as a lot of them found - too many words, not enough words, idea didn't work out, second idea didn't work either.........   Anyway a lot of them persevered and entered a story and one of our pupils has made it to the final 50 short list in the 10-13 age group.
