At Robert Arkenstall Primary School we view outcomes as encompassing all activity as part of our school offer. Our 3 parallel Year 5/6 classes and experienced staff enable us to focus on each individual pupil and ensure they are ready for the next phase of their education in Key Stage 3.

Swimming

All children in Key Stage Two have six weeks of swimming lessons a year. We work towards the national goal that by the time they leave primary school, children are able to:

• Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
• Use a range of strokes effectively
• Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

In 2023 92% of our children achieved this by the end of Year 6
